               GROUND RULES OF MEDIATION    


1) Confidentiality - binding to the mediator. The parties should agree whether they would or not be allowed to quote what they heard during the mediation, in case they reach no agreement by way of mediation. Usually the parties agree not to quote in court the information gathered during the mediation,
 
2) Mediator is impartial, and
 
3) Neutral,
 
4) Mediation is voluntary by all parties and the mediator
 
5) Acceptability - the parties accept the mediator; his/her impartiality and neutrality are beyond any doubt. Should the parties question mediator's impartiality, they should turn to another mediator.
